bell hooks

i finished a book several days ago called Class Matters: Where We Stand by bell hooks. i mention it here because it is an incredible book. check it out. and in many ways it relates to what is going on in the gulf region this past week. which is so horribly tragic. by the way, if you are looking for somewhere to donate cash, check out food not bombs (http://foodnotbombs.com/). this is a great, great thing that is all about free food for all and, in this case, is involved with feeding the refugees from new orleans. i talked with someone in houston and they already have a field kitchen set up outside the convention center there. they are opening more and have many, many needs to meet. they could really use cash, propane stoves, propane, and food. and you can know that your donations are being used directly for those who have been displaced and made homeless.
